LE PARC «LA BIODIVERSITÉ MÉDITERRANÉENNE

The Park "Biodiversity Mediterranean" is a park located in the municipality of Catanzaro dedicated to the flora and fauna typical of the Mediterranean. The botanical garden has countless versions of plants and shrubs characteristic of the Mediterranean climate edited directly from the Agricultural School located within the park.

The Italian botanical garden has an area of ​​114,200 square meters and is located about 100 m from the sea level. There are in it:

-20.000 Plant species hedges and ground cover;

-2000 Tall trees;

-200 Tree species;

-100 Species of aquatic plants.

The entire park covers an area of ​​610,000 square meters, on the inside, as well as the botanical garden are:

-The Military Historical Museum (MU.S.MI);

-the CRAS (Wild Animals Rescue Centre);

-a path of 4.5 km jogging track;

-un'area skating 2561.28 square meters;

-a play area of ​​3,500 square meters;

-a pond water plants;

-The Swan Pond;

-a labyrinth Green;

-a theater with 700 seats;

-un'area bar;

-services toilet;

-a car park of 1,665 square meters.

Also in the park there are 3 paths for walkers:

    the location of the mines has a length of 4 km is leading to the ancient copper mines and other minerals;
    the path of the mills has a length of 2 km;
    the location of the valley has a length of 1.5 km, leading to the valley of the hill where the park is situated where there are some areas for riding.
